About Us

The White Avenue is an English-language news media project that was started by a group of professional Ukrainian journalists, mostly based in Odesa.

Since the beginning of the war, Ukrainian news media have been continuing to shut down.

Our goal is to create the first independent news source in the Odesa region to preserve freedom of speech and democratic media.

White Avenue is meant as a watchdog of objective information about the war in Ukraine and topical events connected to it.

How the war has changed the lives of Ukrainians, how it affects the local culture, and what does it mean to live in conditions of war? These are only some of the questions we would like to investigate on our Life Stories page.

The latest news about President Volodymyr Zelensky, expert opinions on the nuclear threat from Russia and the possible outbreak of World War III, as well as the latest updates on topical politics news can be found on our Politics page.

On our War in Ukraine page, in addition to the latest news about the current situation in the country, we are going to document war crimes which have been committed here since the 24th of February.

We are ready to perform our duties and do everything we can to help Ukraine to survive as an independent and democratic country.
